The PhD program consists of research activity under the supervision of the advisors.

10 PhD positions are available for the XXXIV cycle (2018-2019).

Four positions are fully funded by the University of Bologna. The subjects of the PhD theses  are in the various research areas of the Astrophysics section of DIFA. These include: Stars and Stellar populations; Chemistry and Dynamics of stellar systems; Chemistry, Dynamics and Evolution of Galaxies and Interstellar Medium; Active Galactic Nuclei and their environment; Galaxy Clusters, Large-Scale Structure and Cosmology; Astronomical Technology. The list of the 20 projects presented this year can be downloaded at the page: http://www.cosmic-lab.eu/Cosmic-Lab/PhD34.html

Three positions are funded by INAF and are devoted to specific projects proposed by the two main INAF institutes in Bologna. Specifically:

Two projects can be selected among the four projects proposed by the Astrophysics and Space Science Observatory of Bologna (OAS)

One project can be selected among the three projects proposed by the Institute of Radio-Astronomy (IRA)

The list of the available projects can be downloaded at the page: http://www.cosmic-lab.eu/Cosmic-Lab/PhD34.html

Two positions are funded by ERC grant and devoted to specific projects:

STUDY OF NEW PARTICLE ACCELERATION MECHANISMS IN GALAXY CLUSTERS THROUGH LOW FREQUENCY RADIO OBSERVATIONS

Supervisor: Prof.  Annalisa Bonafede  (DIFA - UNIBO) PI of the project

DRANOEL (Deciphering RAdio NOn-Thermal Emission on the Largestscale)

One position is funded by a specific INAF grant and devoted to the following project:

FRONTIERA: HIGH RESOLUTION SPECTROSCOPY OF STELLAR POPULATIONS IN THE ERA OF EXTREME LARGE TELESCOPES

Supervisor: Dr.  Donatella Romano – (INAF-AOS),  Responsible at Bologna for the project

FRONTIERA (Fostering high ResolutiON Technology and Innovation for Exoplanets and Research in Astrophysics)
